  • The old legend that asking you to dance is a guy thing is so untrue. They really like it when you ask them. This shows that you're confident and have a bright personality.
  • You don't always have to dance with a guy. That is yet another urban myth. Get some friends together and do your own thing!
  • Have a plan for emergencies. Either you spill cherry punch on a white dress or that extra slice of pizza is catching up with you, have someone to call, preferably an adult over 18.
  • Having a lucky charm or mantra will give you Insta-Confidence in the worst situations.
  • Once in a few songs, a slow one will come on. It's okay not to have someone to dance with. Go to the bathroom, get a snack, something, if you don't want to dance. Don't worry, a lively, fast, upbeat one will come on soon.

  • Don't freak out if a guy/girl does ask to dance with you. Act cool, this will make you seem relaxed and sweet. If you don't want to dance then just say so nicely.
  • You should not expect to be asked to the dance. That will get your hopes up, and if you don't get asked, you may be upset.
  • Don't do anything that will get you in trouble. This is an obvious one, but it's very true.
  • Remember, if you are searching for a guy you haven't seen in a while to dance with, don't. It's a big waste of time, its happened to me before, total failure.
  • Do not accept any drugs. Hey, it's fifth grade. Drugs? Seriously? Anything can happen. Be prepared!
