How to Apply Goth Mascara

You got the clothes, you have the hair, and all the other makeup, but you just can't seem to figure out how to apply Gothic mascara. Don't worry, we'll have your lashes looking gorgeously Gothic in no time!

Steps

    Buy two or three different types of black mascara (Lengthening, volumizing, non-clumping, et cetera) and an eyelash curler.

    Clean and moisturize your face.

    Apply the volumizing mascara to your top lashes first. Let them dry (careful not to blink!) and then apply an additional coat.

    Curl your lashes with the eyelash curler. Position the clamp where you want the lashes to start curling and hold for fifteen (15) seconds.

    Apply the lengthening mascara to your top lashes. Let them dry (again, try not to blink).

    Curl your lashes one more time. Try to get the clamp in the same spot as last time.

    Apply another coat of mascara.

    Apply the rest of your makeup.

Tips

  • Remember, Gothic makeup is supposed to look dark and dramatic, so keep this in mind as you're shopping for your supplies and applying the makeup.
  • I suggest liquid eyeliner with this look.
  • Fake eyelashes work great.

Warnings

  • Gothic is not the same thing as scene, punk, or emo, so be careful and make sure you don't get them confused.
