How to Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian)

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the Truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. (Romans 1:18-20)

If you hope to be in peace and settled in your beliefs, then be warned about books, TV talk shows and movies such as: The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens and Religious by Bill Maher, as well as His Dark Materials, by Philip Pullman. You must make room for faith to be a Christian. So what do you do? Well, Abraham Lincoln said you must make sure that we [you] and thus your nation is on God’s side.

Avoid sabotaging the faith and your prayer life: so avoid accepting and feeding your mind on non-faith from negative materials. Be firm, positive and pray to Jesus for guidance. God gives The Holy Spirit with power for believers and guardian angels "For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways." (Psalm 91.11) First and foremost be aware that what opponents to the faith are saying or writing may be intended to create doubt and fear. Understand, before you read a book, what the author's motivation is. Do some research on the Internet to find out about the author, and what their agenda may be.

Expect, but do not accept the confusion, anger and low levels of respect from the media, some scientists, liberal theologians and modern-humanists. There are many things to consider about low enthusiasm from many believers and "unbelievers" alike. Yet, you must resist the humanism of the times; you can act as a Christian ninja and resist such things by the Holy Spirit and in spiritual warfare!
    • Avoid hate, anger or despair over that media or those people who are challenging belief in God or even trying to make belief in God seem like a mental disability.
  3. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 3
Check into the confusion about "religionists". Understand how they are and how they differ from your own Biblical standing.
  4. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 4
Do not stumble over the "unbelieving-belief" of anyone who is not an example of believing God i.e.:
    • theist - Someone who conceives God as personal, present and active in the governance and organization of the world and the universe.
    • pantheist - Someone who believes that the physical universe is equivalent to a god or several gods, and that there is no division between a Creator and the substance of its creation.

Do not allow yourself to be confused or surprised by the "disbelief" or any ideas of people who do not believe in the things that you do. You may think that kind of person is a "believer," but consider the facts; what does the fruit of the person's life reveal.
  6. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 6
Do not be awed by the anti-god, anti-religious variety of argument. Such arguments deserve no credibility in any area of belief about God. They do not know or "know-about" the real God! A conscientious scientist might leave religion alone, if one has ones own or professes accepted theories of getting life from non-organic sources/origins but not from a "Spirit." Religion receives little or no respect from such vocations as scientists, but rather negative statements on faith and religion, which is not a faithful use of their faith in science.
  7. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 7
Don't hold your breath waiting for reasonable credit or respect for religion and the faith even though it is a constitutional right or a guaranteed freedom. Those guarantees don't mean that God or believers will receive anything except arguments as those people allow little or no room for living by faith.

Appreciate Inorganic Matter as it exemplifies the weakness of believing (and saying) that life's origins were from non-organic material, ie: do they really scientifically know that: "Life produces life: they know nothing who do not know that." If they believe that single cell life came from some kind of bubbles in primordial soup, then they should be able to see that God could make that happen, if He wanted to. That would be a cause and effect.
    • All one has to do is accept that one is not faithful to science (to say nothing of God) if one is not aware that life comes from "life"...
    • Life is scientifically known to come from life in some manner (according to logic and facts).
  9. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 9
Consider: "Life is not scientifically known to come from non-organic sources... based on either faith in science or faith in God."
  10. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 10
Do not worry about why non-believers want to ridicule, write articles or sell books against believers and God. Of course, they want to make money and make a "name" for themselves. Just help your fellow man and be motivated by the thought that he will burn in hell if... think it over and show your faith.
  11. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 11
Expect discriminating opinions as bizarre, biting or biased (skewed, slanted and sassy) portrayals about God and His own. Read, listen or view these kinds of works at your own risk. Pray effectively: Let no one persuade you to doubt -- but if you do: you can get out of it, and believe.
  12. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 12
Hold onto the faith, hope and love that you have. It's your soul, and eternity is in view... You, your child, and your nation will need strong faith to see the hard-times of the future sweetened, to be palatable. See the next generation through the bitterness to come!
  13. Image titled Avoid God Confusion or God Delusion (As a Christian) Step 13
Use Laws of Science to Discover Faith if that helps, but recognize that the faith is not based on intellectualism. Teachings against Christianity and/or God are not necessarily honest factually, and unbelievers may use hypocrites and cruel persons from the past to attempt to discredit the faith. Your faith should not be based on humanism, hypocrisy or cruelty of people, but on God's love and your beliefs that you hold, fastened and sure.

  • Sensationalizing people may imagine believers as not quite getting it, concluding that you are "hanging onto your religion" and even "your guns." Well, their imagining is not scientific or reasonable.
  • Mathematicians who are believers evidently have the capability to understand the minuscule probability of "accidents" in "thousands of millions" (billions) of years alone getting life to begin by non-organic means. So how probable is the origin of life occurring even with billions of years without a cause, plan or design. What power does chance have -- as there was little other than the volcanic soil, ambient environs of static electricity, erosion, chaos, acidic and caustic materials, salts, oxidation and water -- to form reproductive life.
    • This original life without a mother cell must be able to feed (off of what), digest, plus have reproductive genetic codes, organelles, organs and cytoplasmic (cellular) life, with a profound balance of thousands of dependencies even in single cell life. But without a mother cell such that it could actually be reproduced and alive; how probable is that?
  • You see the unfair portrayal of God as a delusion, conception or image created by the imagination and having no objective reality. The disbelievers will be more and more bold to rudely describe you as they see their fanciful theories more clearly (based on mere non-organic chance to originate life...).
  • The crucial fact is that faith and belief is important in the life of all believers (and especially potential believers). Faith is not unusual.

  • God is preeminent (supreme in dignity and importance), but He is mentioned as the "little god" called that by those who do not know and have not understood or believed in Him. Accept and believe the Bible. Do not look to blogs or "best-selling-scientists" or authors (or their writings).
  • Scriptures say that God created time and the entire universe from what is not visible, and cannot contain (box) Him. This is certainly not a "little god." These scriptures tell us that all the created universe reveals God, in great glory and power and also by the Holy Spirit Himself:
    • The heavens are always telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. (Psalms 19:1)
    • The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples have seen His glory. (Psalms 97:6)
    • Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created the stars: The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing [unaccounted for].(Isaiah 40:26)
    • Let heaven and earth praise Him, The seas and everything that moves in them. (Psalms 69:34)
    • Praise the LORD from earth's lands, seas and the deep; Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind, fulfilling His word; Mountains and all hills; Fruit trees and all cedars; Beasts and all cattle; Creeping things and winged fowl; Kings of the earth and all peoples; Princes and all judges of the earth; Both young men and virgins; Old men and children. Let them praise the name of the LORD, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above earth and heaven. (Psalms 148:7-13)
