Steps

Make some room. If you don't have room in your locker, you can't sell anything. Alternately, you could get another locker. If you want to keep your locker, clear out the stuff on the shelves that you don't need.

Find a place to hide your items. Business won't work if you get in trouble for having the stuff in the first place. You need a box to keep your stuff in. Keep the size of your items in mind.

Get merchandise. This is VERY important. You can't make money selling stuff if you don't have anything to sell! Start small to make sure people are willing to buy from you, and then gradually begin investing more money into your business. Some popular items to sell are gum, candy, non-perishable lunches in case someone forgets theirs, pencils, erasers, pens, etc.

Keep a place for money. Try to empty it daily, so there's no proof if the teachers catch you that you had sales. You could keep it anywhere as long as it won't get lost or stolen, like a little box or in a wallet.

Put your business out there. If you have your merchandise and you are ready to sell, but don't have customers, you won't get anywhere. Since this is against the rules, you have to be careful. But word of mouth is easy and usually teacher-free. Another popular choice is texting everyone in your class (group text) and getting them to forward it to someone.

Keep a watchful eye on teachers or unfaithful customers. Depending on how strict your school is or how much you sold, you can get detention or suspension.

Continue investing. Don't stop your business once you make a few dollars. Keep on buying more merchandise at a low price, and selling it for a higher price (but not too high, or others will not buy from you).

Tips

  • As long as you're quiet and not obvious about your business, you won't get caught.
  • Start your business with a friend. Share the expenses, profits, and it's always good to have someone to share the blame with if you get caught.

Warnings

  • Make sure that if you are selling food, it is wrapped and sealed away so rodents or bugs don't get to it.
  • A person that bought your stuff may turn on you. Make sure the people you are selling to are loyal and trustworthy.
  • If you are caught, you'll almost always get in trouble. Don't deny anything and accept your punishment, and they may let you off easy so you can get your business running again.
