How to Custom Design a Scary Halloween Curtain

Three Parts:Adding the image of the manAdding the finishing touchesHanging and using the scary Halloween curtain

Halloween––the time of the year when everybody, regardless of their age or social status, comes down to the level of middle school kids. If you are looking forward to playing a prank which can really scare the ‘unspeakable’ out of your guests, then this scary curtain will do the trick. When the lights are turned off, this curtain will glow and the spooky image of a man with glowing red eyes will appear right before your guests' eyes.

Part 1
Adding the image of the man

  1. 1
Make a cutout image of a man. Use cardboard joined together and have a male friend or family member lie down on the cardboard. Trace around the person, then cut out the image to form the man template that will be used shortly.
  2. 2
Cover the floor or ground where you'll be spray painting. Lay down newspaper, butcher's paper, a tarpaulin, etc., to protect the floor or ground surface from spray paint.
    • This location should be somewhere that is well ventilated; outdoors is even better.
  3. 3
Place a plain white curtain on the covered floor or ground area, fully stretched out. Add supports on the edges of the curtain, to keep it firmly stretched across the floor or ground.
  4. 4
Place the full sized cutout of a man’s body on top of the curtain. Make sure that the cutout is placed straight, and does not slant at all. If needed, place some weights on the template to stop if from moving or blowing away (if you're outside). The weights may get sprayed, so only use things you don't mind this happening to, such as rocks, items to be recycled, etc.
  5. 5
Take a can of fluorescent green spray paint and spray it across the curtain. The paint should be sprayed only lightly (spraying it too thickly will reduce the effect that you are aiming to achieve).
    • The cutout will prevent the area it covers from getting dyed.
  6. 6
Take away the cutout and you will get a man’s form in the middle of the green curtain.

Part 2
Adding the finishing touches

  1. 1
Place two small red fluorescent balls in the positions of the eyes of the man’s figure.
  2. 2
Take some more curtains. Spray paint each of these curtains green but do not use the cardboard cutout. Now you have some plain green curtains which will help to make the scary curtain seem even scarier.

Part 3
Hanging and using the scary Halloween curtain

  1. 1
Hang all of the curtains all around the room. Hang the scary curtain in one of the most prominent and easily noticeable places of the room.
  2. 2
Turn off the light. Now you will be able to see that in the dark, all the curtains glow green. The scary curtain with the man's image will give the impression of a shadow with glowing red eyes, waiting behind that curtain.
  3. 3
Invite your guests in. Watch the fun as they scream.

  • You can videotape the fun as your guests scream, so that you can later on watch and enjoy the prank together with the victims of the prank.
  • Place the red balls on the painted side of the curtain.

  • Don’t play this prank on kids, old people, heart patients or anybody else who has a serious medical issue. Don’t even let such people nearby, while the prank is going on.
  • Remove the curtains as soon as the prank is over, so that kids or other vulnerable people do not accidentally see it and get scared.
  • Play the prank only on people with a good sense of humor.
