Spice up the evening and your collection of old empty jars by creating a Moroccan themed lantern display in your home. These sassy little numbers will not only provide illumination, but added allure and romance to any evening.

Preparation

    1
Wash and clean the glass jar. If you have purchased clean, fresh jars from the craft store you may just need to wipe them clean. However, if you're using one from your personal collection, soak the label off and peel away any residual glue gum from the glass surface before starting.

Method 2
Painting the Jars

    1
Apply the gold puff paint to the clean glass surface. Think Aladdin or Arabian Nights when decorating your jars. Get funky and creative, as the gold paint will carry through the main theme.
    • Create intricate, ornate designs around the perimeter of the jar's neck. Trail the gold paint down the sides. You could try for shapes, chain designs or just straight lines, whatever you feel competent using. A style of "beading" has been used effectively in the design shown here.
    • Check out Moroccan designs online to help guide your painting approach. Use an image search engine to help you find such designs.
  2. 2
Allow the gold paint to dry before adding the glass paint. Puff paint can take up to 24 hours to dry, so check your lantern thoroughly before adding the colored glass paint.

Pour a tablespoon amount of glass paint inside the jar. Angle the jar so that you can get the paintbrush inside. Brush the paint onto the inside edges, aiming to coat the inside of the jar completely. Allow the paint to dry.
