How to Do Well on the EOGs

Are you nervous about the EOG? Maybe you don't know how to prepare. Here are some things you can do to get ready. The EOG is a test for 3rd graders to 8th graders in North Carolina. This guide can also help you with other tests too!

Steps

    Look over all your notes for all the subjects on the day before the test.

    Get plenty of sleep. You don't want to be tired.

    Eat a good breakfast—not too light (you don't want to be hungry during the test), but not too heavy either (you don't want to be sluggish).

    Relax and feel confident in yourself. Say "I know I can do it" over and over. Take deep breaths.

    Get out 2 pencils; make sure they're #2 pencils and pull out all the materials for the test.

    Listen to the teacher and she'll let you know what she wants and when to begin.

Warnings

  • If you bring water, make sure it's a small bottle, and don't drink too much because you'll have to go to the restroom during the test and they normally do not let you unless it's an emergency.

  • Pencils
  • Test materials (most of these will be provided by your teacher)
  • Small bottle of water (optional)
