How to Draw a Zentangle Dream Catcher

Before you start, bear in mind that the 'Zen' in Zentangle is all about relaxing, and doing things freely. Instead of following instructions, it is better to do whatever comes to mind, and not stressing about making it perfect. Zentangle is a fairly new, uber fun art form! Using repeating patterns, you can put a fun twist on just about anything. In this article, you will see how to incorporate zentangle into a dream catcher.

Steps

    Draw two circle, one inside the other. You can use a compass, trace a cup or glass, or free-hand it. Whatever works for you. Add a few, curved lines in between the two circles. This gives it that tied-together look.

    Draw another smaller circle, and yet another inside of that.

    Begin to draw your pattern. Most dreamcatchers have a flower pattern as a basis, but you can do whatever you want.

    Add lines to divide up your design. Add prints inside you lines. Be creative with your lines and drawings! Remember: there is no right or wrong. Zentangle is extremely free-spirited!

    Once you are pleased with your center, draw strings along the bottom of your circle. These are for your feathers to "hang" onto. You can do as many as you want - a few strung in a row, or a whole bunch over-lapping.

    Feel free to do whatever shape feathers you want. Divide your feathers into sections. Fill each division with a pattern or print. Don't be afraid to go a little wild!
