How to Make a Bread and Milk Mash

Bread and Milk Mash is a lovely pudding to make when you don't have much in the fridge and cupboard. Here is how to make it.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices white bread
    BREAD!
  • 500ml milk
    Mmm, milk!
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (any type will do)
    Om nom nom - sugar!
  • (OPTIONAL) Pinch of cinnamon
    Ground up, this will be good
  • (OPTIONAL)2 - 3 digestive biscuits
    Digestive Biscuits

Steps

    Pound your bread with the sugar, cinnamon and biscuits (latter two optional) until a soft, dry mound.

    Add the milk.

    Leave for 30 - 60 minutes in a fridge.

    Mash the bread and milk into a wet, milky paste.

    Place in a freezer until fairly hard but not frozen.

    Remove from the freezer, and mash again until icy cold, but a mash again.

    Eat straight away.

Tips

  • Add currants for a more 'bread and butter pudding' taste.
  • Add some chocolate for a sweeter, softer taste.
  • This is enough for 1 - 2 person/people. Just multiply for more people.

Warnings

  • When freezing, make sure it isn't completely frozen, or the milk will go watery in the freezer.
