How to Make a Chocolate Chip Log

The chocolate log is a great dessert or snack. It's easy to make but looks and tastes amazing.

Ingredients

  • 1 standard package chocolate chip biscuits/cookies
  • 1 can fruit salad
  • 1/2 pint whipped cream
  • Chocolate chips

Steps

    Open the can of fruit salad. Drain the juice into a separate bowl.

    Dip a biscuit/cookie into the juice. Follow with another one. Press the two biscuits/cookies together and place on the plate.

    Repeat with the remaining biscuits/cookies. Press each pair against the last pair to form a roll or log.

    Spread the whipped cream over the log. Use a spatula or butter knife to completely cover the portion of the log you can see.

    Sprinkle with chocolate chips to cover.

    Place in the refrigerator to set. This should be for at least an hour.

    Serve. Arrange the separated fruit salad pieces around the log before serving.

Tips

  • The term biscuit is used in this recipe in its British/Australian meaning of a hard cookie.
  • If you would like an alcoholic version, add sherry, grand marnier or another alcohol you like to the juice before using.
