How to Make a Homemade Tomato Tart

This great tomato tart is quick and easy to make. The ingredients can be found at your local store or market so you can make this simple, yet tasty dish. Move down to Step 1 to get started on this delicious tart.


  • 4 to 5 cut Italian Tomatoes
  • 3 spoonful olive oil
  • 1 spoonful Herbs De Provence or Fresh Herbs
  • 7 oz. puff pastry
  • 2 spoonfuls Dijon Mustard
  • 2 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cantal, gruyere, fontina or a mix of mozzarella and goat cheese)
  • 1 handful pitted black olives

    Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

    Mix the tomatoes, olive oil and herbs in a large bowl. Store for later.

    Push down the puff pastry to form a rectangle. Dot the pastry here and there on the sides with the mustard, leaving a border of 1 cm all around.

    Spread the cheese and the tomatoes mixture (mixture from step 2) on top of the dough.

    Garnish with olives and pepper gently.

    Bake for 15 minutes in the bottom of the oven, pass it to grill for some more minutes if necessary to give a slight golden colour to the crust.

    Serve the tart alone or with a salad and some fresh herbs. Enjoy!
