How to Make a Moist Eggless Vanilla Mug Cake

Mug cakes are popular for the ease of preparation, but it's common to end up with an eggy or rubbery consistency. This recipe contains no eggs and comes out moist and delicious!


  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk (coconut or almond milk for vegan)
  • vanilla essence
  • vanilla extract
  • butter, melted (you can also use coconut oil for vegan)
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 pinches of baking powder
  • 6 tbsp. flour

    Start by adding your flour. You can sift it for a smoother and lump free consistency.

    Add the sugar, baking powder and salt and stir well.

    In a separate cup, add in your milk. Mix in the vanilla essence and extract and pour into dry mixture.

    Add in melted butter or coconut oil.

    Stir till smooth.

    Put it in the microwave for 60 secs (or more if required)


  • Melt chocolate or chocolate chips with butter and a tbsp. of milk to make a ganache for topping.
  • All microwaves are different; therefore start with 60 secs and increase time if not thoroughly cooked.
  • Best eaten hot with chocolate ganache.
  • You can also substitute some ingredients for a vegan version which is just as good!
