Blow up as many yellow balloons as you want pineapples.
    • Tie a knot in the end of each balloon.
    • Tie the string around the knot––you’ll be hanging the balloon from this end.
  2. Image titled Make a Pineapple Balloon Step 2
On the green craft paper, draw long thin, sharp leaves. Draw the typical leaf shape of a pineapple.
    • You’ll need at least eight to ten of these leaves, proportioned to the size of the balloon.

Cut out the leaves. Cut as neatly as possible.

Tape the leaves around the knot end of each balloon. Ensure that they are standing upright; sometimes this may require some creative taping.

Hang the balloon from the string length. The leaves face upward, the large round end of the balloon faces downward.
    • Hang a row of pineapple balloons across a room for a fantastic tropical effect.

  • If you know how to use art balloons, you could make the leaves by twisting long green balloons into a leaf-like arrangement.
  • This is great for parties with a tropical theme.
  • For a more interesting effect with the leaves, vary the shades of green.

  • When using tape on a balloon, be careful if you need to pull it off to realign it, as pulling off the tape may stretch the surface and cause the balloon to burst.

Things You’ll Need

  • Yellow balloons, as many as you need for display (have a few spares in case of bursts)
  • Green craft paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • String (or ribbon, raffia, etc.)
