How to Make an Ignition Circuit

This gadget would be great for lighting fire crackers on the other side of a wall or not having to unsafely use a match or lighter.

Steps

    Have two electrical wires ready, one is connected to a battery and the other is connected to a switch connected to the battery. The wires have to be at least as long as your arm.

    With iron wire, make a small compact coil. The diameter of the coil must be small enough that only the wick of a firecracker can fit through.

    Connect the open ends of the electrical wires each to the ends of the iron wire.

    Hook the iron coil to the wick of something you'd otherwise be using a match or lighter on. Push the button to light the wick.

Tips

  • The coil must be made of iron and should be coiled where only a dynamite wick can fit through.
  • For best results, use a 9V battery.
  • Overuse of this device can cause the battery to heat up, therefore resulting in a battery leak or explode. take a break for at least an hour.
  • Use a Push Button, not a switch or toggle button.

Warnings

  • The iron coil is made to heat up therefore lighting the wick. Do not touch the ignition coil while in use.

  • An electronics store like RadioShack
  • Short strand of iron wire
  • Two electrical wires, each at least as long as your arm
  • 9V battery
  • A switch (button)
