How to Make Caramel Nut Frosting


Tasty caramel makes a fine frosting for almost any cake, especially spice cakes which are glorious when topped with this candy tasting delight.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup finely chopped nuts, pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Steps

    Add butter, sugar and milk to a saucepan.

    Bring mixture to a boil, over medium heat, stirring constantly.

    Cook until the sugar is dissolved.

    Add powdered sugar and beat until frosting is of spreading consistency.
