Love bananas and peanut butter? Well, this is how you can make chocolate covered peanut-butter banana bites that are both tasty and nutritious.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • Peanut butter
  • Melting chocolate, to dip

Part 1
Preparing the bananas

    Prepare the baking pan or sheet. Cover with a slice or wax or parchment paper to stop the banana slices from sticking.

    Slice the bananas into evenly sized slices. Arrange the banana slices on the pan or baking sheet. You'll need an even amount to work with.

Adding the peanut butter

    Spread peanut butter on half of the banana slices. Use a butter knife to add the peanut butter.

    Place the non-buttered pieces onto the buttered banana pieces. Form little sandwiches from the pieces. These now form the basis of the bites.

    Arrange the sandwiched banana and peanut butter bites back on the pan or sheet. Place the whole pan or sheet in the freezer. Allow to freeze for an hour.

Adding the chocolate

    Remove from the freezer. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in a microwave-proof bowl. Remove from the heat when melted.

    Dip the frozen banana and peanut butter bites in the melted chocolate. Move around to ensure that each banana sandwich is entirely coated in chocolate.

    Return the covered banana bites to the freezer. Allow to freeze for at least 3 hours, or overnight.
