How to Make Crepes Suzette

Crepes Suzette make a smashing finale for dessert. They are elegant and easy perfect for any party or special event. They would an especially nice dessert for New Year's Eve as they sparkle with a hint of orange liqueur in the orange sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 French crepes, use your favorite recipe
  • 7 ounces orange juice
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons water
  • 1.1 ounces butter, melted, a heaping tablespoon of butter
  • 3 tablespoons Grand Marnier or other favorite orange liqueur

Steps

    Make the caramel by placing the frying pan over high heat.

    Add the sugar and water.

    Stir to mix thoroughly using the wooden spatula.

    Cook over high heat 2 minutes until start to thicken and turn into caramel.

Warnings

  • Use extreme care when pouring the liqueur into the pan.
  • Use extreme care when lighting the orange sauce to flambe. Some people take the pan off the heat to do this.
