    1
Place a piece of tape approximately 3 times as long as the longest section of a staple face-up on a flat surface (please note that it is difficult to lay, and the dimensions of the tape in the Things You'll Need section).

    2
Take one of the staples and lay it about a staple's length (no more) from the end of the tape so it extends across the narrow part of the tape.

    3
Take a second staple and lay it so both of the tips touch the tips of the other staple exactly. They now form a square.

    4
Wrap the tape, short end first, over the staples to form a tape-covered square.

Take a long piece of tape (about 8 or so squares length) and lay it face-up on the table.

Take another piece of tape (about 4 or so squares length) and cross it face-up, perpendicularly across the other, exactly one square's length from one end of the longer tape.

Stick the squares to the tape in a typical cube net; four in a row and two on either side of the second square in the row with four.

    9
Fold the net into a cube and wrap the tape around to secure it. Add anymore tape necessary.

Tips

  • Once the staple is on the tape, if it is not aligned correctly, you can push it into the correct position. The stick of the tape will provide friction, but not enough to keep you from getting it perfect.
  • There are several methods to putting the staples on the tape to make the squares. The one I used was to drag the staple with one 'leg' touching the ground across the table until it catches on the tape, then lay it flat.
  • To get the staples, instead of pulling them off the staple line, just open your stapler and click it. Staples will fall out unbent.

Warnings

  • Don't put your hand over the place where the staples come out on the stapler if you are clicking them out while it is open. They will pierce the skin.

Things You'll Need

  • Staples, and preferably a stapler.
  • Tape, the thin kind. Should be about 3/8 of an inch wide and quite sticky.
  • A permanent marker.
  • scissors
