How to Make Fruit Compote Angel Food Cake

  • 1 Large circular Angel Food Cake
  • Several sweet fruits of same type
  • at least 3 containers of any basic yogurt
  • Cool whip/whipped cream
  • chopped nuts (optional)
  • food coloring (optional)

    Buy and cut a full angel food cake horizontally down the middle without breaking the cake too much.

    Pull one of the top halves of the angel food cake off and set it aside. It is to be used later in this recipe.

    Line the bottom of a medium to large glass bowl with a non-waxy but coated lining.

    Place the bottom half of the angel food cake in this bowl. This layer will help to hold the fruit compote.

    Cut up and place several sweet fruits on top of the angel food cake in the bowl. Some fruit ideas include (but aren't limited to): peaches, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, raspberries, etc.

    Coat this angel food cake and fruit mixture with at least the 3 containers full of yogurt. French Vanilla or some other very basic flavor work best.

    Add a third layer of yet another different fruit to the cake and yogurt/fruit mixture desert.

    Pick up the top half of the angel food cake, you originally put aside, and place this layer on top of the cake mixture.
