How to Make Glorified Rice

An old-fashioned, tasty and somewhat healthy dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked rice, cold
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 ½ cups crushed pineapple, drained
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped, or use Cool Whip (if using Cool Whip, you may want to reduce the added sugar in this recipe)
  • 8 marshmallows, cut up
  • maraschino cherries, optional garnish

Steps

    Cook rice in advance and chill. This is a good way to use up leftover rice.

    Whip cream and add the sugar and vanilla. Fold in gently.

    Add crushed pineapple.

    Quarter the marshmallows, or use miniature marshmallows and add as many as you like.

    Garnish with maraschino cherries, if desired.
