How to Make Herbed Yogurt Spread

This spread is a version of the 'sauce' used in gyros.


  • ½ cup low-fat yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 teaspoon (or ¾ dried oregano)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh mint
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper

    Whisk all of the ingredients together.

    Chill for eight hours or until ready to eat.

  • Squeeze some fresh lime in the yogurt for a burst of flavor.
