How to Make Swiss Baked Eggs

A variant of shirred eggs, this cozy egg and cheese dish would make an excellent choice for breakfast or brunch. Eggs are cooked in melted butter, topped with cheese and cream, then baked to a delicate brown.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
  • 6 eggs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup cream
