How to Make Tea Leaf Salad

Originally from Shan State, tea leaf salad is now available in every part of Myanmar. You can make it at home, too, and it tastes delicious!

Ingredients

  • 5 green or red tomatoes
  • 1 cabbage
  • 2 spoons cooking oil
  • 1 small pack tea leaves
  • Beans
  • Lime juice

Steps

    Cut 5 tomatoes into thin slices. You can choose either green tomatoes or red tomatoes. Add the sliced tomatoes to the salad bowl.

    Slice a cabbage into strips. Add the slices to the bowl.

    Put two spoons of cooking oil on a plate.

    Remove the tea leaves from the pack.

    Put the tea leaves and beans on the plate.

    Add a little lime juice.

    Mix the ingredients all up.

    Add spiciness. If you like spicy you can eat this with garlic and green chili.
