How to Make Vaseline

Do you end up buying a lot of Vaseline? Have you ever been curious about making your own Vaseline? It is very easy and incredibly cheap to make. Follow these simple steps below and you'll be on your way to making your own Vaseline.

Steps

    Buy a block of skin safe beeswax.
    • Be sure the beeswax is skin safe. This will prevent any harmful reactions to your skin.

    Place the beeswax in a bowl of edible oil.
    • You can use any kind of oil but it should be edible. For example:
      • Vegetable Oil
      • Sunflower Oil

    Melt the beeswax in a microwave.
    • Melting the beeswax will form it into a liquid. It also allows the beeswax to react with the oil.

    Leave the mixture to cool.
    • You can place the mixture into a fridge, allowing it to cool faster.

    Use the Vaseline.
    • You can use it the same way you would with an ordinary tub of Vaseline.
    • Be creative with your Vaseline by forming it into tubes for lip balm.

Tips

  • If you are placing the mixture into a fridge to cool down faster, place a layer of film over the top to prevent bacteria.

Warnings

  • Do not eat the beeswax or Vaseline. It can be dangerous for your health.
