How to Not Be Late for School

Always late for school? Trying to make sure you won't be? Hoping that you won't have a bad permanent record for being late? This how-to will help you out.

    Wake up early. This is the obvious solution. Try not to waste time doing things that are time consuming, like picking out an outfit in the morning instead of the night before, or putting on eyeshadow. For guys, don't waste time playing video games in the morning.

    Go to bed at a reasonable hour. Don't go to bed at 12:00 so you can wake up at 6:00am. The earlier you plan to wake up, the earlier you should go to bed.

    Get a good night's sleep. Make sure you are comfortable, but not so comfortable that you'll hit SNOOZE and go back to sleep.

    Eat a good breakfast. Eating breakfast fuels you and helps you wake up. You'll go faster.

    Do homework as soon as you can. Doing it at midnight won't help you at all.

    Do yoga/exercise. Studies show that this is relaxing and can help your sleeping factor.

    Don't eat too late. Your body is digesting, keeping you awake.

    Think about the consequences of being late to school: tardiness, even embarrassment from arriving last to class.

Tips

  • If you find yourself dozing off straight after your alarm, set a second alarm for a couple of minutes after the first. If you're still hitting the snooze button, make a reward system with a friend, parent, or any other person you trust(that can provide the rewards) for getting up at your first alarm.
  • When you wake up, drink a big glass of water. This will increase your energy and make you less drowsy, so you'll be up and running and not slumping around like a zombie, which will ultimately make you slow...and late.
