How to Play Get Home from the Bar

Do you like a fun easy card game to play when you are having a couple friends over? This is a simple game to play when you are having a couple drinks or if you just want to kick back and play cards.

  1. 1
Select two people to play the game. One will be the dealer and one will be the flipper.
  2. 2
Have the dealer make a pyramid of five rows. The bottom row consisting of five cards and then working your way up to one.
  3. 3
When done laying out the pyramid, the flipper can get started on getting home from the bar.
  4. 4
Flip a card on the bottom row and then work your way up the pyramid by also flipping cards adjacent to the first one you picked. So if you pick a middle card on the bottom row then you have pick one of the two cards that are adjacent to that card or directly "above" it. You have to go up a row each time you flip a card. If you pick a card on the end in any row that leaves you going up that side diagonally. However, if you flip a face card the dealer will lay another card on all cards flipped and you will have to start over from the bottom.
  5. 5
Note that whatever row you make it to is the number of drinks you will take. The rows are numbered from bottom to top 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
  6. 6
Keep playing until the flipper gets to the top without flipping any face cards.

  • Start by picking one of the middle cards on the bottom row so you aren't stuck going up diagonally.
  • Have fun!

  • Do not drink alcohol if you are underage.
