How to Stretch Out Your Writing As Much As Possible

Sometimes it's really hard to write about a topic. Perhaps it just doesn't fire your interest or maybe it's not something you care about that much; worse, maybe you can't find enough decent information to write about the topic. Whatever the reason, there are some ways to stretch it out to at least become acceptable.

  1. 1
Know what you are going to write about. Keep the main topic simple and general. Using a simple one may help you develop your writing best.
  2. 2
Develop ideas which support the main topic. You can simply ask and answer some questions relating to the main topic. The answers will be your supporting ideas.
    • For example: Your main topic is The Power of A Good Speech. Then, you can answer these question to find your best supporting ideas to write about: What does a good speech contain? What are the examples of a good one?
  3. 3
Be aware that there are two main types of raw ideas: Explain/General and Examples/Stories. Explain refers to the ideas which you can use to give general background to your topic, whether it's a general topic or a story. Use examples and stories to make your writing more approachable and attractive.
    • Pick some explaining/general ideas to be your paragraph sentences. Find some good ideas to elaborate the main sentences even more.
  4. 4
Add more details, add more stories. Giving out more and more good stories will make your reader feel that the ideas are perspicuous and find your writing easy to understand.

  • Make sure what you are doing makes sense and will appeal to all readers.
  • Be careful while telling stories. Be sure that they are on topic and helpful. You must find strong connection between them. Don't add a example or story to your paragraph just because you find it interesting.

  • Never disagree with your critics. Listen and try to understand what they are telling you.
