How to Use Isopropyl Alcohol as a Deodorant

A little publicized cheap and effective deodorant spray is 99% isopropyl alcohol, which can be obtained at any drugstore.

Steps

    Buy a bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol (16 oz. is a usual size).

    Pour the alcohol directly into a spray bottle.

    Spray each underarm with a small amount before dressing.

Tips

  • The isopropyl alcohol spray can be effective in treating and/or eliminating other bacterial-affected areas of the body as well.
  • Grain alcohol can also work, but is illegal in some states.
  • Test each such area with a small amount of spray for possible skin sensitivity.

Warnings

  • It is highly flammable and must be kept away from heat, spark, electrical, fire or flame.
  • Use only in a well-ventilated area; fumes may be harmful.
  • Isopropyl alcohol is for topical antimicrobial use only.
  • It can be used as an antiseptic.
  • Some skin areas may be sensitive to isopropyl alcohol.
